Look out world....

....I got my Driver's License on Tuesday!!!
I totally flopped the parallel parking part of the test, but didn't get any other points docked for the driving part, so I still passed, praise the Lord!!! And, that afternoon I got to drive by myself to my sister-in-law's house for voice lessons! And, of course, I stopped by Braum's for a ice cream shake to celebrate!!!!! :D

Remembering.....

Remembering 10 years ago....I was 10-years-old, and didn't even know that there were twin towers in NYC till that morning. We were doing school and a friend of ours, Mrs. Lyons called to tell us what was going on....then later, my Grandfather dropped by like he liked to do after feeding our neighbor's horses, but he didn't come inside, he and Mommy stood out by his truck and talked with serious looks on their faces. Then Mommy came inside and told us that 'some evil men were attacking our country, and had deliberately flown some airplanes into some really tall buildings in New York City' (we were little, ok? :). Then we heard that another plane had flown into the Pentagon, and Mommy told us that my Grandfather used to work at the Pentagon when she was little and they lived close by. Since we didn't have a TV, Mommy packed some of us kids us, and we went to our friends, the Bollok's house, and watched the news reels...heard about the bravery of the men and women aboard the flight that they forced down in PA. I have since read a book called Let's Roll by the widow of the man that helped instigate the charge into the cockpit, Todd Beamer. I have also since met Lt. Col. Brain Birdwell, who was in the Pentagon when it got hit, and he and his wife have one of the most amazing testimonies out there!!!! They now minister to burn Patients: http://www.facethefire.org/ and have also written a book: Refined by Fire (I have an autographed copy!!! :)

I remember the really eerie feeling in the days and weeks that followed Sept. 11th - when you would go out side and there wouldn't be any planes flying overhead.... I am very thankful for a Loving God, a free country, a military, and amazing friends and family(that I had an awesome time playing volleyball with after church today!!!!) ♥

Have YOU forgotten???

O, thus be it ever when freemen shall stand,
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust"
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
